Privacy policy
What we know about you, and why.
As little as possible: no account, no cookies, no analytics, no ads, nothing sold. The detail, case by case.
Who is responsible
WigNet is published by Fabien Voyer, independent developer. The processing described here is carried out by WigNet, which runs this site, the shop and the platform app.wignet.app that drives the frames. Any question or request: contact@wignet.app.
Visiting this site
This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics. Like any web server, ours keeps a technical log of each request: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser. It keeps the service running and protected, and is deleted after 14 days.
On the “Build your Wignet” page, some links to Amazon carry our Amazon Associates ID: if you buy after following one, Amazon pays us a commission, at no change to your price. That tracking happens at Amazon, with its own cookies and under its privacy notice; this site still sets none.
The same page asks the public catalogue of Écran Papier, our selling partner, which of these boards it has in stock. Your browser makes that request, so Écran Papier sees your IP address and nothing else: no cookie, no identifier of ours.
Buying a frame
Payment happens at Stripe: we never see your card. Stripe passes us what we need to ship: your name, email address, shipping address, the finish, the amount and the date. We keep them to ship the order, follow it up and meet our accounting obligations (up to 10 years for accounting records). Legal basis: performing the sale and our legal obligations. Stripe also processes this data on its own behalf, under its privacy policy.
Using a frame
To send each frame the right image, the platform keeps, per frame: its unique device identifier, the name you give it, the settings you choose (orientation, time zone, power source, battery sync cadence, planned events and alarms), the messages you write and the image URLs you enter, the size and capabilities the frame reports, and the time and outcome of its latest updates. Published images, their source files and prepared event images are kept while referenced by the frame or its planned events. Replaced files that are no longer referenced become eligible for cleanup during maintenance; there is no fixed lifetime measured from upload. The frame sends no sound and no picture of the room: only its identifier, its screen size and the list of its capabilities.
This data stays as long as the frame is in use; we delete it on request. Legal basis: providing the service you asked for. Technical logs of the frames’ requests (IP address, date, page) follow the same 14-day rule as the site’s; the image-update log, which can name a frame’s identifier, is kept about 8 weeks.
Your assistant retrieves external data and explicitly sends the content you ask it to publish. Wignet does not query weather, tide or transit sources automatically. If you give an image URL, the platform fetches it once for that publication, from its own server; the image host receives that request.
A frame’s personal link (app.wignet.app/w/…) contains its unique device identifier and is enough to control it: keep it among people you trust. If it went further than you wanted, write to us.
Handing your frame to an AI agent
You can give your frame’s link to an assistant (ChatGPT, Claude or another), directly, through a connector, the Wignet skill or a GPT. The assistant then sends the platform the same requests you would make by hand: read the frame’s state, publish a message or a picture, prepare planned displays and supported alarms, change its settings, check the shop’s prices and stock. We receive those requests and their content, nothing else: not the conversation, not your account with that provider. They are processed and kept exactly as above.
What you write to the assistant is processed by its provider (OpenAI, Anthropic…) under its own rules, which we do not control: see its privacy policy.
Writing to us
Your emails are used to answer you and kept for the exchange and its follow-up (order, warranty).
Where the data is
The platform, the shop and this site are hosted by OVHcloud, on a server in Canada, a country the European Commission recognises as providing an adequate level of protection. Stripe may process payment data outside the European Union, under the safeguards described in its policy. We do not sell or rent any data, and share none with anyone else unless required by law.
Your rights
You can ask to access your data, correct it, erase it, restrict or object to its use, or receive it in a reusable format: write to contact@wignet.app, giving the frame identifier or the order email concerned. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
